Yes, temperature and humidity work hand in hand. Different air temperatures can hold different amounts of moisture or humidity. Your piano and the parts within could be compared to a sponge, as humidity increases your piano expands, as humidity decreases the piano contracts. The results of these changes is unstable tuning along with many other possible malfunctions. We highly recommend the installation of a Humidity Control System to help combat these changes that can be harmful to your piano.

Why should I install a humidity control system?
Benefits of these systems include:
- Improved tuning stability enabling the piano to stay in tune better between tunings
- Prevent rust and corrosion on strings and other metallic parts
- Minimize expansion and contraction eliminating many problems such as unstable tuning, and sluggish or sticking keys
- Reduces the deterioration of parts within the piano
